Cherry Jones THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA
Written by Tennessee Williams
Starring Cherry Jones, William Peterson, and Marsha Mason
Directed by Robert Falls

The Roundabout Theatre Company is proud to present Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana directed by Robert Falls, Artistic Director of The Goodman Theatre in Chicago. The production stars Cherry Jones in her first performance after her Tony Award®-winning turn in The Heiress, Chicago actor William Peterson making his Broadway debut and Marsha Mason returning to the Roundabout stage for the first time since her performance in Harold Pinter's Old Times in 1984.

Set in a broken down Mexican resort hotel, The Night of the Iguana is the story of four very different and very lonely people. A defrocked minister, a woman of about 40 from New England who travels the world with her grandfather ("the oldest practicing poet in the world"), and the tough, lustful widow who runs the hotel are brought together in the squalor and heat of the tropical setting. Throughout the course of the play, they are forced to confront life, with all of its tragedy and despair, and to endure it.
