This fall, Roundabout Theatre Company proudly introduces ACCESS ROUNDABOUT a new audience development program that encourages young people and others to attend performances at a fraction of the price. This fall, through new and innovative initiatives and updates to existing programs, Roundabout will allocate over 22,000 Dramatically Discounted Tickets.

Roundabout Theatre Company goes “underground” this fall.
Roundabout Underground cultivates new theatre artists by giving them the opportunity to debut their works as full-scale productions in the Black Box Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. Emerging playwrights and directors receive the support of a major theatrical institution without the pressure of premiering on a New York mainstage. This season Roundabout launches this new artistic and audience development initiative with Speech and Debate a new play by Stephen Karam.

HIPTIX “New and Improved”
This season Roundabout re-launches its popular young professionals program with a cheaper ticket price ($20) and even more access!
On December 15th, 2000, Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) introduced HIPTIX, a new low-priced ticket alternative for theatregoers ages 18-35. Internationally recognized for its audience development programs, Roundabout Theatre Company launched HIPTIX to bridge the gap between its comprehensive arts-in-education program and its innovative Theatre-Plus program (including the highly popular Gay and Lesbian, Social, Wine Tasting and Teacher’s Series). HIPTIX targets a segment of the population traditionally under-represented in New York theatres by making Broadway and Off-Broadway productions affordable for young professionals.
In 2000 HIPTIX had a membership of 2,500 young professionals. Seven years later, the HIPTIX program now boasts over 10,000 members. Positive word of mouth, online marketing, and unique HIPTIX events are largely responsible for the growth of this innovative audience development initiative.
