For Educators: Perspectives
Perspectives offers teachers a flexible, collaborative way to integrate the study of theatre into their curriculum, whether in the context of English Language Arts, Global Studies, or Drama. This course of study introduces students to multiple aspects of the theatrical experience, from playwriting to designing to performance. The program also includes professional development opportunities for teachers to explore their own artistry and offers practical, fresh ideas that can easily be integrated into their classroom practice.
Program components include:
TWELVE ARTIST VISITS to each participating classroom, including four visits featuring two teaching artist (one lead teaching artist and a specialist in theatrical design areas)
STUDENT TICKETS to one Roundabout production
POST-PERFORMANCE DISCUSSIONS with cast members (at select performance)
A CLASS SET OF ROUNDABOUT'S PRODUCTION GUIDE for students, which illuminates central themes and issues in the play.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES including Roundabout's Theatrical Teaching Institute, preview workshops, orientation meetings at each school and ongoing collaborative planning with Roundabout Teaching Artists
PREVIEW TICKET VOUCHERS to the Roundabout production that the class will attend to aid the development of appropriate lessons that prepare students to attend the theatre.
